ABOUT MCKINZI GODFREY SMITH

A Musical Journey

McKinzi Godfrey Smith fell in love with the harp as a young girl. From her hometown in Southeastern Idaho, she would commute over an hour in both direction for her weekly lessons. As she grew, her passion for and commitment to the harp grew as well.

McKinzi pursued harp even as her family moved to Mesa, Arizona. Throughout all four years of High School, she was tapped to participate in Arizona’s All-State Orchestra, with the additional honor of playing as first chair during her senior year. She played regularly with the Mesa Public Schools' Harp Ensemble and continued through college as part of the harp ensemble at Brigham Young University.

McKinzi’s role as a harpist has taken her across the nation, where she has performed with her various ensembles and orchestras in venues such as the Lyon & Healy performance hall in Chicago and Carnegie Hall in New York City. Now, she is excited to share her talent and love for the harp with the community here in El Paso.
